Ausgangslage
During routine railway inspections, rockfall debris was found at the rail level. Crouch Waterfall & Partners were asked to undertake geological inspections and design work.
Massnahme
Crouch Waterfall & Partners calculated the need for a 1000 kJ rockfall barrier. Due to the limited works area available Geobrugg presented the RXE-1000 rockfall system. With its reduced breaking distance this system fitted perfectly within the site constraints. Rockfall modeling showed that a system height of 4 metres would catch 100 percent of the modelled rockfall. Again due to the site limitations it was necessary to design and produce the bespoke brace post used to terminate the system at the right end of site.
