Initial situation

To protect from rockfall on an alpine trail at the mountain Grossglockner in Austria, a new rockfall gallery was built between two tunnels.

Description

The damping system ROCKFALL-X G was used on top of the gallery to economically dampen rockfall impacts with a calculated energy of up to 800 kJ. For this purpose 85 bags of the 1.3 m high damping modules were prepared in Geobrugg factory and delivered directly to the construction site.
