Initial situation
Due to the filling levels of the dam, it was necessary to guarantee the uninterrupted operability of the tunnels during the life of the project and to prevent the damage caused by large block slides in the portals.
The designer company (Integral S.A.) required a completely stainless stabilization because it will be submerged and affected by the oxidizing agents of this water.
Description
Geobrugg has the only stainless steel stabilization system on the market, TECCO® STAINLESS. This system of stainless steel increases the life cycle and reduces susceptibility to corrosion.
Because of the experience, they have in this type of project the system was installed by WARCO S.A.S. - especially as access, drilling, and injection were demanding. With highest quality standards more than 1'500 m² were stabilized.
