Slope Stability - Yongduam 2015

Safe walking paths

Year of installation

2015

Initial situation

On Jeju Island, erosion formed a 10 meters high rock into a dragon's head. Yongduam is one of the main tourist attractions of the region. Rockslides threatened sightseers on the surrounding walkways.

For stabilization, the city of Jeju needed an erosion proof solution. The solution should not compromise the scenic beauty of the area.

Description

TECCO® G65/3 STAINLESS was installed in December 2015. 4 meter long galvanized 28 mm nails at intervals of 4 meters (horizontally and vertically) are fixing the mesh. The mesh was colored green and thus is unobtrusive.
