Initial situation
Ujsoły is located in the south of Poland, not far from Żywiec. A couple of years ago, rockfall led to the closure of the road connecting Ujsoły to the Polish-Slovakian border. Since then, road users have been endangered by rockfalls and rocks remaining on the road in this section.
Description
To protect users and the road as an infrastructure against rockfalls, three GBE-500A rockfall barriers have been put in place. The barrier line protects the road for a total length of 410 meters. This solution keeps the road open and enhances safety during travels along the route.
