Initial situation

Thirty years after its first Indy car event, the Detroit Grand Prix has returned to its original home on the streets of Downtown Detroit with a new 1.7-mile or 2.7 km course. The venue includes popular downtown destinations like Hart Plaza, Spirit Plaza and the Detroit Riverwalk.

The event has featured the NTT IndyCar Series, the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, Indy NXT and the Trans Am Series and general admission for fans free of charge.

Description

Geobrugg was asked to supply its concrete barriers and mobile debris fences, as used in Nashville’s Music City Grand Prix, to cover about half of the track area in Detroit. Our mobile debris fence has enabled fans to enjoy the live action around the street circuit safely, and its easy mobility has ensured minimal disruption on public roads.
