What is the GUARD?
The Geobrugg GUARD monitoring system is designed to monitor flexible protection systems against natural hazards such as rockfall, avalanche and debris flow.
The GUARD is a small device installed on the flexible protection system's rope containing sensors that transmit environmental and physical data over a mobile network. More information about the installation of the GUARD can be found in the product manual.
How does it work?
Three main sensors (acceleration, rope force and corrosion sensor) built into the GUARD device, support identifying dynamic and static load cases as well as corrosion rates. Furthermore, the whole life cycle of the GUARD and the corresponding responsible staff is also described in a step-by-step diagram.
Multiple graphics, detailed pictures, and typical inspection schemes serve as a great auxiliary for the reading expert.
