CETRA 2018

  • 17 - 19 May 2018
  • Zadar, Croatia

It is our pleasure to invite you once more to Croatia, this time to Zadar, European Best Destination in 2016 , to the 5th International Conference on Road and Rail Infrastructure (CETRA 2018) that will be held

Although the transport needs of nations around the world differ in detail, there is much benefit to be derived by sharing research findings and practical experience. The 5th International Conference on Road and Rail Infrastructure – CETRA 2018 aims to provide a forum for dialogue on important issues across all disciplines and aspects of the road and rail sectors. The main gaps to be filled are those between researchers and practitioners in design, construction, maintenance, and management of transport infrastructure systems, especially with regard to an increased need for climate change adaptation, smart construction materials, and infrastructure data analysis. CETRA 2018 Conference serves as a platform for a broad blend of scientific and technical papers in the fields of Civil, Transport, Geotechnical, Environmental and Traffic Engineering. Papers considered for publication are original papers that form a contribution to the theory or practice of infrastructure engineering, present state-of-the-art work on topics related to infrastructure, or case studies in which theory is applied to a significant infrastructure problem.

Meet our experts at the CETRA 2018 in Zadar, Croatia on 17th - 19th May 2018.

16º CBGE

  • 2 - 6 September 2018

CAVING 2018 - Fourth International Symposium on Block and Sublevel Caving

  • 15 - 17 October 2018
  • Vancouver, Canada

The growing popularity of caving methods around the world is largely due to the very low production cost and the intrinsic safety associated with the mining approach. It is often the only viable mining method for some of the lower grade massive orebodies that are becoming too deep for open pit mining. Strategically, most medium and large mining companies are operating or planning to operate a caving mine. Codelco’s El Teniente Mine in Chile and the LKAB’s Kiirunavaara Mine in Sweden are among the largest and most famous caving operations in the world. Canada’s leading caving operations include New Gold’s New Afton underground block caving mine which seeks to produce an annual average of 75 million pounds of copper and 80,000 ounces of gold over a 12 year mine life.

Cave mining has become one of the most research intensive areas of mining engineering in recent times. Mining companies need to be kept informed of the latest technological developments from caving research and researchers require a regular platform to present their results and interact with industry practitioners.

Symposium Themes

  • Draw control/ material flow
  • Caving mechanics
  • Ground support
  • Geotechnical monitoring
  • Fragmentation
  • Mine equipmen
  • Numerical modelling
  • Planning and design of caving mines
  • Preconditioning
  • Seismic monitoring of caving mines
  • Subsidence
  • Caving mine closure
