System length

220 m - 1324 m

Year of installation

2022

Initial situation

To obtain the double FIA/FIM official approval that allows the return of motorcycle endurance to Spa-Francorchamps, an expansion of run-off areas and the installation of a gravel trap were required.

These works were part of an overall strategy aimed at diversifying activities on the Circuit and the modernization of its infrastructure.

Description

Different debris fence solutions were chosen:

  • Debris fence in combination with a guardrail
  • Mobile debris fence
  • Debris fence panels as a sleeved solution behind a concrete wall

Only a few months of construction time had been available before the start of the race season. Geobrugg trained the contractor for an efficient installation of the debris fence.
