Initial situation
At the foot of the Guschakopf, above the settlement area of Bad Ragaz, there is a significant risk of rockfall, which can endanger both public safety and existing infrastructure. Previous rockfall incidents on the road have led to specific protection requirements. Additionally, a future building zone had to be identified and secured.
Description
In view of the touristic importance of Bad Ragaz, a flexible protection solution was ultimately chosen, as it blends harmoniously into the landscape. In addition to the RXE systems, the newly developed ROCCO barrier was implemented. Thanks to the successful completion of edge-of-field tests, it proved particularly suitable, as in this case, the edge field was also located within the hazard zone.
