Pedestrians and traffic on Steigerweg road, at the Western end of the town Heidelberg, was in danger because of falling rocks and stones as well as weathered hillside rock. In the past, the hillside was worn away after heavy rainfall. It was planned to permanently secure Steigerweg road and the parking space in the Eastern part of the area by installing a rockfall protection barrier and fixing the exposed rocks with anchors.
Installation of two rockfall protection fences at a length of 195 meter just behind an existing supporting wall right beside the road Steigerweg.
