After prolonged periods of heavy rain and strong winds a large quantity of material was mobilised from the slope down onto the B4286. The road was closed for safety concerns whilst any remaining material was removed by hand. Traffic management was then installed and the road was re-opened as a single lane under traffic management.
Working closely with the local borough council, Geotechnical contractor Quantum Geotechnical and specialist rope access teams at iBEX a provisional stabilisation solution was put forward. This stabilisation utilised the excellent properties of TECCO® GREEN for both strength and greening capabilities. Quantum Geotechnical employed Remedy Geotechnics to ensure the provisional design was suitable, and all was agreed.
