The pit wall is opposite the garages with an elevated working platform for team members and race officials. On top of the pit wall a pit wall fence is installed with regular openings to show pit boards with information to their drivers.

Where is the Pit Wall in use?
The pit wall is located at the start finish straight separating the garages with the working and fast lane and the race circuit. The length of the pit wall is depending on the circuit activities and the number of garages.
Why is the Pit Wall required?
A race is started and ended from the pit wall. The pit wall barrier is having and elevated platform which is providing a safe working space for team members and race officials.
Safety is a question of trust and reliability
Building a race circuit is for most clients a once in a lifetime project. Where to start to not get overwhelmed and what do I have to prioritize? Geobrugg is supporting the process starting with consultancy to the circuit owner and designer ensuring that the right solution is selected for the project. Once a decision is made on the solutions required, Geobrugg is supporting the process from manufacturing to the final delivery including logistics, installation training, project management and final inspection.
Globally we work with clients and contractors from various different areas - constantly listening, developing and implementing changes whereever possible. This constant exchange lead to the creation of a easy to install solutions which can be installed after a training period by any local contractor. In addition we have developed over the years a wide array of "add-on" solutions complementing our motorsport product range.
Pit Wall Gate
Pit Wall gates are installed on the concrete barriers and provide quick access and exit for marshals, team members, and logistic teams with forklifts, racing and standard vehicles. The gate’s width is 4.5m.
Pit Wall Gate
The gate wings are protected by beams, guardrails, and stabilization struts to avoid a pushback of the wings during a crash. The safety construction can be inserted handily into the notch in the concrete barriers and removed quickly.
Hydrant opening
Due to local and state regulations, different kinds of safety and active fire protection are required around the circuit. Therefore, we developed a Pit Wall barrier with a hole to ensure access to fire hydrants, cable ducts and manholes.
Starter & finisher podium panel
As many starter and finisher podiums are projected onto the race circuit, we designed a special pit wall panel to ensure that fence protection remains underneath and beside them.
