A smart add-on for barriers

The Geobrugg GUARD is a sensor system for rockfall barriers, debris flow barriers, avalanche prevention structures, and other protection measures. The small, robust device permanently collects and transmits environmental and physical data via the GSM network: Is there an impact or a load on the barriers like snow or debris? How long will the corrosion protection last? Does temperature or humidity play a role? You can see this and more on the online dashboard. The functional principle is explained in this video.

More security at lower costs

Today the GUARD operates in over 10 locations in Europe. Prerequisites for the approvals were tested under the toughest conditions at different European installation sites. The 24/7 measurements of this smart device allow remote conclusions about the condition of the barriers and therefore can reduce on-site inspections considerably. The measurement and evaluation of the microclimate also enables predictive maintenance and thus investment planning.

Simple and in operation for years

In a few minutes, the almost 3 kg GUARD is attached to a barrier with two nuts. Everything needed for data transmission is integrated within the device. No additional radio infrastructure or software is required: the data is password-protected and displayed via a web browser. The GUARD works autonomously; one battery charge lasts up to ten years.
