Situation de départ

The expansion of the gravel and sludge collection system for the Kracharüfe in Schaanwald (Liechtenstein) was intended to protect against landslides and flooding. The Esche river was relieved by the receiving water and the retention volume increased.

Description

In the course of the expansion, the system also needed to be protected from damage caused by burrowing animals such as beavers. A total of 630 m² of mesh (TECCO G45/2) was installed for stabilization and protection against burrowing animals.

This protection has been in place since construction in 2016/17 and, as the photos show, the mesh is proving to be corrosion-resistant. (As of the end of 2023)
