Situation de départ

The Indian Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) was building a new railway line at Rangpo in West Bengal,  near Teesta bridge. During construction the slope at the tunnel portal became instable causing rockfall.

Geology: Moderately to highly weathered Claystone/Shale & Sandstone/Siltstone. With overburden of clayey silt with gravels and boulders.

Inclination of the slope: 50° to 60°

Description

Work started with drilling for anchors in April 2021 and was completed with installing a GBE-2000A rockfall barrier in June 2021.


Trained professionals carried out the installation under the supervision of Geobrugg India Pvt. Ltd. It ensures maximum safety with correct methodology, guiding the site engineers and sub-contractors for optimum effects and results.
