Until now, only a few companies were legally required to publish a sustainability report. A new EU regulation, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive - CSRD, will increase this number from 11,000 companies across the EU to around 50,000. The BRUGG Group will be affected by this from 2029.
Despite not being immediately affected by the new regulations, we decided to prepare our first sustainability report last year. Two main reasons motivated this decision: Firstly, environmental, social, and economic sustainability are deeply embedded in our core values. Secondly, we recognize that market demand, and therefore our customers, will increasingly expect such reports. Only companies that embrace sustainability will thrive in the long term.
Our report, based on globally recognized reporting standards, covers the entire spectrum of sustainability (environmental, social, governance - or ESG) and it also includes the Group's carbon footprint.
We have developed a detailed action plan based on our findings, which is now being implemented across the BRUGG Group’s divisions worldwide.
The report is available here.
