Steel wire mesh for sustainable protection against rodents and burrowing animals

Animals such as beavers, wild boars, foxes, and badgers can damage infrastructure such as earth dams, dikes, and irrigation canals. The damage can trigger dam failures, flooding and drain water reservoirs.

Burrowing activities on road verges can lead to road surface erosion and collapse. The burrow and rodent protection is based on high-strength steel wire mesh which is a sustainable, cost-effective and comparatively less invasive measure to maintain infrastructure and ensure animal welfare.

High-strength steel resists the sharp teeth of rodents. Other animals, such as wild boar or foxes, are deterred from digging by the steel wire mesh. Depending on the protective function, finer or stronger mesh is recommended; combinations are also possible.

SUPERCOATING or ULTRACOATING are used in most applications, with the option of stainless steel to offer maximum corrosion protection and durable solutions on road embankments or coasts with higher salinity environments.

Embedded in nature

The mesh is inconspicuous and is usually hidden by vegetation.

Simple assembly

The lightweight mesh is easy to transport, unroll and lay.

Rodent and burrowing protection

Depending on the protective function, the mesh size varies; multiple protection can be easily implemented.

Tested many times

All our meshes are tested and can withstand rodent teeth and burrowing animals thanks to the high-strength steel.

Recyclable and free from plastic

The steel mesh can be completely recycled. It is free from plastic: no pollutant discharge into groundwater or when eaten by animals.
