Situation
In May 2021, a tragic accident occurred in the lower part of the Gorges du Chauderon hiking trail, which connects the old town of Montreux with Les Avants. As a result, the trail was closed in order to take safety measures.
Description
After the road closure, extensive forestry and rock clearance work took place.
Due to the terrain conditions and the continuing risk of falling rocks, it was decided to secure two sections with one Canopy SCC-500 system each.
The two systems protect hikers from falling rocks and redirect them further into the gorge (self-cleaning systems).
The type of net used for these barriers was the ROCCO 7/3/300 with a secondary mesh TECCO G45/2.
