Following a landslide, a geotechnical study revealed problems of mass and surface rock instability within the rock face upstream of the Chemin du Lido in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. Major safety work had to be carried out on the rock face.
The large-scale rock instabilities were reinforced by systematically nailing the cliff with 40 mm nails to a depth of around 10 meters. In addition, the surface instabilities between the nails, which could reach several m³, were treated with a flexible facing of SPIDER S3-130 High Elastic Limit mesh.
The SPIDER S3-130 net was unrolled in the wall before the anchors were installed as temporary protection during the drilling work. This solution was designed using the online RUVOLUM software (available on the Geobrugg website).
