Descripción

Soil Nail design was completed by AECOM as part of this process a flexible facing was required. Through close communication with the design team and contractor CAN we were able to specify the use of TECCO® mesh G65/3. After careful consideration of the local environment, it was decided to use the improved galvanizing of ULTRACOATING to increase the lifespan of the TECCO® mesh on site.

A vertical nail spacing of 1 metre and horizontal of 2 metres was required for control of the global stability. Using various drill rigs, soil nails have been drilled to depths of 18 metres at an angle of 25 degrees below horizontal. At each soil nail head, the ground has been recessed slightly to allow for the large plate to be installed. This also allows for good tensioning of the TECCO® mesh.
