Neckargerach is a town located in southwest Germany between Frankfurt and Stuttgart. From time to time landslides occur along the railroad tracks. Geologists scanned the area and worked in close collaboration with Geobrugg to develop possible protection measures. The project areas were prioritized and completed in phases. In the first phase a total of 1,500 m² of TECCO G65/3 was installed by the construction company Feldhaus.
During the second phase 15,000 m² TECCO G65/3 were installed. The installation of the upper part of the slope was done with a telescope crane from the hiking path. The construction company used a special machine to unroll the TECCO mesh. Loose rocks from the upper part of the slope will be caught with the TECCO interception apron. The TECCO mesh serves primarily to protect the area below. The anchored mesh runs along the protruding boundary nails and is secured to the top bearing rope and thereby into an intercepting apron. This apron can contain rocks with a maximum diameter of approximately 30 cm and moving at a maximum velocity of 20 -25 m/s.
