Natural Gas pipeline installed involving clearing of slopes and covering a 20 in transmission line. The two slopes detailed on this project needed stabilizing to protect the integrity of the transmission line, personal property and the public from a slope failure. The solution required a cost effective system that could meet site challenges and provide safe, eco friendly slopes.
The nailed (anchored) TECCO® System effectively stabilized the slopes protecting the integrity of the natural gas pipeline, property and the public. The revegetated slope looks great and is eco-friendly. Grooming of the slope is not a problem and animals can easily traverse the mitigated area.
Residual soil/coluvium
The solution was 82 000 ft² of anchored TECCO® System utilizing TECCO® G65/3 and P33/40 spike plates. Challenges for design and implementation included access to the top of the slope. This was accomplished using a light weight, modular wagon drill for the top down TECCO® installation. The pipeline had to be considered during design with anchors strategically placed around the pipeline. Cathodic protection was ensured with properly grouted anchors and installing sleeves through the TECCO® mesh for wiring.
