Initial situation

La Plagne, together with Les Arcs and Peisey-Vallandry, is part of the Paradiski ski area, the second-largest linked ski area in the world.
The Société d'Aménagement de la station de la Plagne (SAP), which manages the ski area, is planning to reorganize the glacier sector.

The new Glacier gondola lift will be installed in an area exposed to avalanche risk due to accumulation on the upper slopes and overhung by a cliff that could generate rock falls.

Description

Thanks to its flexibility, the avalanche barrier can easily be adjusted to the terrain, and maintenance after each winter is simplified.

The Spider Avalanche Dk3.5 is designed to withstand expected snow heights. Moreover, this solution also features rockfall interception capabilities for enhanced integrity in this type of rockfall-prone environment.
