The Tres Reyes neighborhood in the town of Ciudad Bolivar (southern district of Bogota) sits at one of the highest elevations in this area of the mountains. Strata embankments detached from sandstone, residual soil and weathered rock caused landslides that were affecting houses underneath.
The areas at higher risk were identified and two types of solutions were proposed to stabilize the slope. In areas with fractured rock Geobrugg installed the SPIDER system in combination with anchor bolts. In areas having residual soil and weathered rock Geobrugg installed the TECCO® System in combination with anchor bolts. For improved erosion control a local mantle was added.
