Situation
The Artxanda Tunnels connect the Txorierri Highway Corridor with Bilbao. In the vicinity of the tunnel entrance, several massive rocks broke. Rocks have fallen onto the roadway, thus endangering traffic. For this reason, Interbiak decided to stabilize this area.
Description
To stabilize the slopes, anchored concrete bars, and a flexible stabilization system were installed. The DELTAX® 80/3 mesh was anchored to the ground with bolts 25 mm in diameter and 6 m long, in a 3Vx4H m² grid.
