Mooring line failure, also known as snapback, is a leading cause of serious injury and fatality in the maritime industry. When a mooring line ruptures, it can recoil at speeds of up to 900 km/h, creating an extreme and unpredictable hazard. Becoming more likely with larger vessels and severe weather conditions.

This webinar presents our validated protection solution against mooring line failure. In unique large-scale tests, we investigated this phenomenon for the first time under realistic conditions, together with a partner company. The results provide unique insight into snapback behaviour and demonstrate how engineered solutions can effectively prevent injury and transform safety at ports.
