To ensure the safety of its facilities and personnel on the access track downstream of the Bious dam, SHEM has commissioned the engineering consultancy Hydrogéotechnique to recommend rock stabilisation works, including a 1,000 kJ energy-dissipation system.

Geobrugg supplied attenuator structures with a 5-meter inlet at the head, designed to meet all the project’s criteria. The rockfall hazard assessment carried out in the area enabled the input parameters required to justify the structure's design to be defined using the ATTERO design software.
The solution's flexibility, in terms of both span and post positioning, will facilitate drilling operations and improve safety conditions for the contractor during installation.
Finally, the optimized attenuator configuration — without an energy dissipator — will significantly reduce maintenance requirements over the structure’s service life.
Post are 5 meters high, with 6, 19 and 20 meter beams.
