Initial situation

Anglo American needed protection against rock falls for the San Francisco Dump. Leaching works are carried out in this area. The dump is constantly exposed to falling rocks due to the upstream transport and unloading of materials.

Description

A dynamic rockfall barrier of the RXE type was installed. This type of barrier is simple and easy to install and dissipates high energies.

The barrier is designed for a block with an energy of 200 kJ, an impact speed of 17 m/s and a system height of 6 meters, as requested by the client.
