Rockfalls endangered the Sissach-Eptingen section of the freeway, so the Swiss Federal Roads Office ASTRA commissioned a maintenance project.
For the safety of road users, the project included net covers, rock cleaning and the installation of a rockfall protection structure. To be precise, three different rockfall barriers with a total length of around 5000 meters were installed.
The work was mainly done during the night, with one of the lanes closed to traffic at a time.
