The Extractive Industry Geology (EIG) Conference is the principal event for sharing knowledge, scientific research and good practice in the field of applied geology within the UK minerals industry.

Twenty-nine 25-minute technical papers will be presented over two full days in a series of themed sessions. As well as the introductory session, including a review of the local extractive industry, the themes will include: groundwater issues, resource development, techniques & innovation, resources & reserve evaluation, mineral restoration, resources & community, and geotechnics.

Also included in the programme this year will be two plenary discussion forums: one on The Future of Mineral Extraction and Geology in the UK, led by Dr. Ian Selby, Chairman of the UK Minerals Forum (UKMF); and one on The Role of The Environment Agency in UK Minerals Regulation, led by Jim Davies of the Environment Agency.
