For the growing research field of vehicle safety, the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) is building the new research and test center CARISSMA (Center of Automotive Research on Integrated Safety Systems and Measurement Area). The aim of the facility is the realization of a global security system, connecting existing safety functions using bionic principle, mimics and human senses to detect and prevent risks from the environment. A suitable test system, consisting of a central research building, and a free test track, should allow scientists to test their developments at an early stage and to demonstrate its feasibility through trials and simulations.
Geobrugg AG was responsible for the layout design, production, delivery and installation of the safety barriers at the CARISSMA proving ground. Our partner NORDBETON GmbH provided the concrete barriers and the special designed Pit Wall gate for easy fixation to the standard concrete barriers.
