In 1999 massive debris flow impacts destroyed settlements and infrastructure. According mitigation and protective measures were required due to prevailing high risk. Implementation of "multi- level" concept with 2 debris flow barriers (Barrier 1: Type VX, L 11 m x H 6 m and Barrier 2: Type UX, L 23 m x H 6 m) with anchorage in shist / loose rock / soil. Retention capacity: approx. 1700 to 2400 m3 in total.
