Quite recently, Geobrugg secured a slope nearby a manufacturing facility in Woburn, Massachusetts (USA). To protect against large, unstable blocks the rock fall drape SPIDER S4/230 was installed. After the drape was installed, the larger blocks were scaled off the slope. During the scaling operations, an approx. 3.5 m3 large rock broke off the slope. Thanks to the protection measure the rock was deposited safely at the toe of the slope without any damage to the mesh. Without the Geobrugg mesh the rock could have hit a nearby 3,700 liter liquid nitrogen storage tank resulting in serious damage.
