Situazione iniziale

Drivecenter Arena AB started operations in the year 2008 on a small military airfield in Fällfors, northwest of Skellefteå, called Skellefteå Drive Center.

At the beginning of 2008, a vision of the Swedish owner Bengt Astergren started to create Sweden's northernmost operating circuit. The current owner decided to make this available and in summer 2019 a 4.2 km (Scandinavia's longest) race track will be opened.

The first competition is held on 14-15 June the Midnattssolsloppet, the Midnightsun Race.

Descrizione

Geobrugg provided design support and consultancy during the race circuit development phase. As an already large asphaltet area was present we recommended to use a Pit Wall consisting out of pit wall barriers with pit wall fencing on top. A gate was implemented to allow track access from the pit lane.

The pit wall barriers were locally produced with moulds and key elements provided by Geobrugg / NORDBETON.

The fast and easy installation process of precast barriers and pit wall fence panels helped to stay within the tight schedule. Furthermore construction processes were reduced and onsite construction errors eliminated.
