Situation de départ

Four buildings on Untersteinstrasse in Bludenz were endangered by an overhanging rock. The steep slope with a gradient of up to 150 percent had to be secured by our rockfall protection system.

Description

Two RXE rockfall protection barriers were installed: The first system is a RXE-1000 (5 meters in height, 40 meters in length), the second system is a RXE-1000 (5 meters in height, 44 meters in length), in combination with a RXE-500 (4 meters in height, 36 meters in length). The installation on the rough terrain was a challenge: Even a helicopter was required to transport the 300 kilogram posts up in the air. Two men received the posts, while two colleagues attached them to the ground plates – practically with one foot in the abyss. It really took them only 30 minutes to place and install the posts. The Geobrugg systems are flexibly used even on slopes that are difficult to access, they are installed quickly and easily – an efficient solution no matter how tricky the situation is.
