The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) required stabilization of a rock slope along the Jefferson Street on-ramp to U.S. Route 26 in Portland, Oregon. The slope had become compromised because of weathering of the basalt rock. ODOT required the slope to be stabilized to improve safety and also retain the natural appearance of the slope.
The anchored TECCO® SYSTEM3 was implemented using Geobrugg’s RUVOLUM® online dimensioning software. The RUVOLUM® online tool was used to calculate the TECCO® SYSTEM3 anchor spacing. The use of high-tensile strength TECCO® mesh and the RUVOLUM® online tool allowed for the total amount of anchors to be optimized while maintaining an acceptable factor of safety.
