Initial situation

Among other things, the rail operator Chemins de Fer du Jura loads wood onto freight cars. There was a risk of tree trunks or small parts falling onto the passenger transport line during loading.

Description

Geobrugg was contracted to develop a solution to protect the danger zone.

In the first phase, one-meter-high concrete bases and steel girders dimensioned by Geobrugg were prefabricated and installed by the client. Geobrugg then installed the steel cables and tensioned the mesh (G80/4).

The distance between the supports is three meters; the total length is 39 meters.
