Initial situation

The holiday park is located at the bottom of a sea cliff which experiences small seasonal debris and rock releases. The site is located within close proximity to the sea in a C4 environment.

Description

A 157 m and 36 m long, 1.5 m high stainless steel T35 (35kJ) barrier with galvanised and epoxy posts was installed. Stainless steel was selected to guarantee design life in the corrosive C4 environment. The heavy-duty galvanised posts were epoxy coated and electrically isolated between all the stainless connections to eliminate galvanic corrosion. The T35 posts were embedded directly into the ground which enabled a fast, cost effective and flexible installation.
