Along a 200 meters section of the Cité du Havre (Port of Montreal / St. Lawrence River) the slope showed instability and ongoing erosion, combined with weakened and partially dead vegetation. In addition, the site required an improved visual appearance for the adjacent office buildings and parking area.
After clearing debris and removing unstable vegetation, anchored TECCO® CELL as a stabilization solution was installed: river stones (200 - 400 mm) wrapped in high-tensile steel wire mesh, applied at the river toe as a permanent solution. Rip-rap would not have withstood high water and ice blocks in winter.
The solution enables long-term slope stability while supporting natural vegetation growth. Additional erosion control measures and landscaping, including seeding and planting, further enhanced the site's structural integrity and visual integration.
