Initial situation
After the successful implementation of the first barriers, the Archdiocese of Bogota also wanted to reduce the risk for users of the funicular. Rock blocks, trees, and fine material endangered continuously the lives of visitors.
Description
To solve this problem, the contractor installed six sections of RXE-3000 barriers with a height of 6 meters and a total length of over 300 meters. They are divided into six sections: three barriers above the tunnel and three barriers on the south side of the hill. These flexible solutions have been especially beneficial against the containment of falling trees, which due to frequent rains are susceptible to collapse down the slope.
