The origins of the city of Mardin reach back to the 5th millennium BC. The ancient Mardin Castle rises 1200 meters above sea level and 600 meters above ground.
In the course of restoration works on the ancient castle, two GBE rockfall protection barriers were installed on the steep hill: Six lines of GBE-3000A barriers with a total length of 360 meters and one line of GBE-5000A with a length of 40 meters protect the unique architecture of Mardin and its monuments.
