Year of installation

2000

Initial situation

The site is located in an abandoned quarry on the island of Singapore. To protect the entrance and service roads and to make the quarry pit accessible for further use, rock walls of different height, inclination and age had to be stabilized.

Geology

Granites.

Description

A substantial part of the works was carried out on walls about 3 decades old and up to 60 meters high. After scaling the slopes from loose boulders, drilling was done either from platforms operated by mobile cranes of by rope access from the top. The whole stabilization works took about one year and was carried out by specialised teams without one single accident.
