Initial situation

The railroad line 664000 from Pau to Canfranc runs alongside the Gave d’Aspe when it reaches the commune of Bedous, where it has a mixed cut-and-fill profile. The upper part of the cut-and-cover slope is composed of a limestone cliff, generating numerous boulder falls of up to several hundred liters, threatening the operation of the track.

Description

Different risk zones were identified according to the volumes of instability observed. Geobrugg assisted the project manager in sizing the most suitable solutions for each zone using the RUVOLUM software. SPIDER S3-130 netting was installed in the areas with the greatest weathered thickness and TECCO G65/3 in the other areas.
