Initial situation

Igora Drive is a motorsport complex in the resort of Igora, near Sosnovo in Leningrad Oblast, Russia. It is located approximately 64 kilometers north of Saint Petersburg.
Built in 2019, the Herman Tilke designed circuit will be the home of the Russian World Championships from 2023 on.

To accommodate F1 cars, the 4 km track is currently receiving an extension to 5,18 km. Construction work has begun on the renovations at the end of the circuit's anti-clockwise lap. The changes will extend the two longest straights and a fast final loop, featuring dramatic elevation changes.
