For inspections of flexible protective structures against natural hazards, there are specifications on the one hand from manufacturers, on the other hand from standards and from practical aids. Despite country-specific differences, the basic principles regarding responsibility and inspection intervals are similar in most countries.

However, these specifications pose challenges in terms of effort (costs) and feasibility in the various topographies, and there is often a lack of resources to implement them correctly.
