Today we would like to introduce you to three debris flow protective systems that are unmatched:
1. the biggest flexible debris flow barrier in the world - viewed by a drone flight 2. the tried and tested - 19 barriers in a row, filled to the brim 3. the unusual - after historic floods it is finally calm in the village
Hüpach: the biggest
The biggest flexible debris flow barrier is not only documented with text and photos, but is also on film.
Favazzina: tried and tested
In Western Calabria we have installed 19 mudslide barriers in a row: UX180-, UX100- and VX100-barriers at a height between four and six metres - in total 970 square metres. Even during installation, the uppermost barrier went into action. Everything about this project in Southern Italy.
Lenk: the unusual
The village of Lenk in the Bernese Oberland has time and again been affected by debris flows (in the picture 1930). After the floods of 2005, this retaining structure for debris and driftwood was constructed in geologically challenging terrain. We dimensioned the nets and cables between the concrete panels.
