The LASSO system (Light Armor System against Shaped Ordnance) provides efficient protection against RPG-7V. A special mesh of high-tensile steel wire significantly enhances protection against rocket propelled grenades because it prevents formation of the shaped charge beam. Compared with other systems the use of the LASSO system saves up to two tons in weight per armored vehicle with scarcely any loss of vision.
