The ABOXX tie bar protection can be installed in a very short time on the fragile anchors, enabling the necessary lane closure time to be kept to a minimum. Thanks to the side mounted braking elements, the ABOXX can be adapted to the tie bar pre-stressing. In the event of a tie bar fracture, these braking elements deform, thus dissipating the transferred energy
The second tie bar protection consists of a high-tensile
steel wire mesh stretched in front of the tie bar heads and provided with four braking rods, two at the top and two at the bottom. The ingenious interaction of this high-tensile mesh and the specially designed braking system permits a reduction in kinetic energies of up to 30 kJ for a deflection of only 40 cm.
