The rockfall drape TECCO® offers significant cost advantages over diagonal wire netting solutions:
No secondary mesh is required, such as is usually required with cable net drapes. Considerable savings are achieved in material and more important installation time to join cable net and mesh together with hog rings.
The TECCO® rockfall drape, supplied in rolls of 3.5 x 30.0 m (11.48 x 98.42 feet), are much easier to handle and can be simply unrolled on the slope.
Due to the size of the TECCO® rolls, each covering 105.0 m2 (1,129.86 ft2) fewer numbers of adjacent panels need to be attached. Cable nets are only 3.66 x 7.32 m (12 x 24 feet) in dimension, 27 m2 (288 ft2) which is roughly ¼ of a single TECCO® panel. Thus, the amount of seaming with TECCO® is exponentially less than with cable nets. .
Due to the 3-dimensional rhomboidal shape of mesh, the seam rope pulls through the mesh very easily with a minimum of friction.
